Making an Appointment

You can get information and make an appointment by calling us any time during our office hours Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm. Call us at 401-467-9111 or toll free at 800-877-6339. We have Spanish-speaking staff available to assist you.

  • Abortion services are provided Monday-Saturday.
  • Free pregnancy testing is available during office hours on a walk-in basis.
  • Options counseling is provided during office hours, preferably through a scheduled appointment.

When you call to make an appointment, you will be asked for information that might seem very personal or not necessary. We ask for medical information and any special needs you may have so we can identify potential problems and develop solutions before you arrive at our Center. Our goal is to provide you with the most personalized, streamlined and safest service possible. Remember that all information is kept confidential. Information that we will ask you over the phone includes your:

  • Name
  • Age
  • Date of birth
  • Phone number
  • Height and weight
  • First day of your last menstrual period (LMP)
  • Medical history to include illnesses, conditions, allergies, current medications
  • Pregnancy history
  • Insurance information (if any)

Accepted Insurances

We accept most insurance including Aetna/USHC, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Blue Chip of RI, Cigna, HMO Blue of New England, Harvard Pilgrim, Lifespan Blue, Tufts, United Healthcare and Mass Health (Mass Medicaid).

If your health plan is not listed here, call us at 401-467-9111 or toll free at 800-877-6339.

Payment Information

Our fees can vary depending on your unique needs and situation. Please contact our office to speak with a phone counselor who can answer questions about insurance coverage and the cost of services. Our fees include blood work, counseling, ultrasound and a follow-up visit. Fees for RhoGAM injections are calculated separately. RhoGAM is a medication given to women whose blood type is RH negative.

WMCRI accepts cash, all major credit cards and money orders as forms of payment, as well as the insurances listed above. No personal checks are accepted. If you are unable to pay for an abortion procedure you may speak to one of our phone counselors about funding options. If you choose to try and secure funding, please be prepared to pay for as much of the procedure as you can on your own and be prepared that funding can take days or weeks to secure. Please keep in mind that emergency funding for abortion patients cannot be guaranteed as there are very limited funds available—we may not be able to secure any funding at all, but we will try our best to meet the needs of every patient.
